Compliance Officer

We are currently looking for a Compliance Officer in Hong Kong for our fast-growing virtual asset trading platform.  

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in updating policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant rules and regulations;  
  • Participate in licensing applications for regulated virtual asset services;   
  • Coordinate with key internal functions to identity gaps and driving projects to close the gap, as well as drive change and develop best practices;  
  • Prepare CPT materials and maintain relevant records; Influences and negotiates with seniors across functions and management; may communicate with external consultants and lawyers;  
  • Perform compliance control and monitoring programs including but not limited to control room, AML monitoring, and trade surveillance;  
  • Handle other compliance matters / ad hoc matters assigned by Head of Compliance.  

Requirements:

  • University graduates in Law, Accounting, Finance, Business or other relevant fields; 
  • Sound knowledge in SFO, SFC VATP Guidelines, SFC AML/CTF Guidelines and other relevant codes and regulations;  
  • 2 – 5 years of relevant experience in compliance or audit, gained from sizable institutions (including investment banks, virtual asset exchanges and/or financial regulators) or professional firms (e.g. Big4 CPA) 
  • Strong interest in blockchain industry;  
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills;  
  • Good team-player who is self-motivated, independent, meticulous, analytical and responsible;  
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task and work under pressure;  
  • Willing and able to adapt to a fast-paced environment and assume responsibilities with a result-driven attitude;  
  • Creative thinker and proactive problem solver;  
  • A positive, “can do” attitude;  
  • Industry recognized financial crime/AML qualification preferred (e.g. ACAMS/ICA);  
  • Previous experience in dealing with regulators (e.g. SFC/HKMA) and/or external professional service providers (e.g. lawyers/consultants) is an advantage; and  
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese, and Fluency in Mandarin is preferred.
